Pre-configured bundles
The Navy 6.0 Evo is a 6kW electric outboard delivering efficient and reliable electric propulsion, with power equivalent to a 9.9hp gas motor. With a direct-drive system, it offers low maintenance and a quiet ride thanks to fewer moving parts (only the propeller shaft). Featuring Hydrogeneration technology, these motors can recharge batteries while sailing. Ideal for those seeking both eco-friendliness and performance on the water.
Designed for convenience, the lightweight (29 kg / 64.0 lbs) and compact motor is easy to lift, transport, and stow, whether ashore or onboard.
Control with an Evo tiller, or mount a separate throttle control, wirelessly (via the top mount remote control) or wired (side mount control). In addition, dual motors can be installed and controlled synchronously (via the dual remote control) for double the power for larger boats.
When paired with an ePropulsion E163 battery, you can run the Navy 6.0 Evo for up to 1.5 hours at full throttle (about 24km/h or 15 mph), covering a distance of approximately 35 kms (22 miles). Or at a speed of 10.8 km/h (6.7 mph), extend your runtime to 4.5 hours. Connect up to 16 batteries in parallel to extend your range even farther. These waterproof batteries are not only far lighter and more compact than traditional fuel tanks, but they also eliminate the need for engine noise, oily bilges, and unpleasant fumes onboard. Either way, you’ll have clean, quiet, and environmentally-friendly propulsion.
You can also use a 3rd-party battery (which must meet the required specs) like the Epoch 100Ah V2 Elite to power the Navy 6.0 Evo, but note that hydrogeneration is only capable with the ePropulsion E163 battery.
The Navy 6.0 Evo is perfect for small to larger boats including:
- Yacht tenders and dinghies
- Aluminium fishing boats
- SIBs (small inflatable boats)
- RIBs (rigid inflatable boats)
- Motor boats
- Day sailers
- Yachts up to 6,000 kg
Transom Height | Shaft Length |
---|---|
40-50cm / 15.7-19.7 inches | Short |
Higher than 50 cm / 19.7 inches | Long |

Note:
The battery (ePropulsion E163 which allows hydrogeneration, or Epoch 48V 100Ah V2 Elite, which does not) throttle controls (Evo Tiller, Side Mount Control and Wireless Remote Control) and cables are sold separately. For a complete Navy 6.0 Evo system, purchase one of the bundles.

Accessories

Powerful, but virtually silent.
A 6hp or 9.9hp equivalent motor at a fraction of the size and weight of a gas motor.

Maintenance-free.
Other than a fresh water rinse after use and keeping the electrical contacts clean, requires no regular maintenance or winterization.
No exhaust, oil slicks, emissions or fumes.
Stow in the trunk of your car without worry of spills or smell.

Suitable for freshwater and saltwater boating.

Hydrogeneration
Recharge as you sail.
Leave the Navy down while sailing, the spinning propeller charges the battery. Does not work with third party batteries, and boat speed must be above 6 knots for the power generated to be meaningful.
ePropulsion is the first motor manufacturer to introduce hydrogenation into their motors, allowing them to travel further.

Safe, durable high-performance batteries.
E163 and E60

E-Series Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries
Although both Navy models are compatible with 3rd-party 48V lithium batteries, we recommend choosing an ePropulsion battery. The 48V E-Series lithium iron phosphate battery is made for your Navy electric outboard. Because of incompatible communication protocol, when powered by third-party batteries, the Navy cannot access real-time battery status and apply the best operation strategy (also hydrogeneration is not possible).
Maximum Safety.
- An intelligent battery management system (BMS) protects internal cells from overcharging, overheating and continually monitors the battery’s health.
-
CE, UKCA, FCC, and UN38.3 certification.
- Waterproof to IP67.
-
All-metal housing is more reliable, weather resistant, impact resistant and drop proof.

Frequently-Asked Questions
Why should I buy from Oceans EV?
Our number one goal is customer satisfaction. This is why we sell only one brand of electric motors—so we can be the experts you need. If you have a problem or a question about your purchase we will continue to provide support when you need us.
Can I try it out before purchasing?
We have a couple options available:
- If you’re in or can get to Victoria, BC, we can arrange for a 30 minute demo during a sail on our 21′ sailboat where we have an electric outboard installed. Contact Us to book a demo.
- You can rent the motor for as long as you want with our try-before-you-buy programme. You’ll get 80% of the rental cost applied to the purchase if you decide to keep it. Learn more.
Can I return the electric motor for a refund?
Electric motors can be returned for a full refund if unopened and in the original packaging, anytime within 30 days of receipt. If opened, but undamaged (subject to our inspection) and with less than 10 minutes of use, you can return it for a full refund minus a 20% restocking fee within 30 days of receipt. See the Returns and Refund Policy page for full details.
How do I determine the proper shaft length for my ePropulsion outboard?
The shaft length you require depends on the transom height of your boat. Take a look at ePropulsion’s shaft length guide to determine which shaft length you need. The Spirit 1.0 Plus is available with an extra short, short and long shaft. The Spirit 1.0 Evo and Navy Evo series are available with a short or long shaft.
Note that shaft lengths of electric outboards are measured differently than combustion outboards, so it’s important to double-check which shaft length is ideal for your boat.
What is the warranty on ePropulsion outboard motors?
All ePropulsion electric outboard motors come with a standard 2-year warranty, with an additional year of warranty protection on all models except eLite if you register your motor with ePropulsion, for a total of 3 years.
Do you offer financing or payment plans?
Yes! We have partnered with Affirm to to let you buy now and pay later. You can choose to make 4 interest-free payments every 2 weeks or monthly instalments up to 36 months. Simply choose “Affirm” as the payment method at checkout. Note that a 6% fee is added to the purchase.
