The best-selling Spirit 1.0 Plus needs no introduction: it’s a 1kW electric outboard (equivalent to a 3hp gas motor) made for dinghies, fishing boats, RIBs and SIBs, sailboats and tenders. It features a large 1276Wh, integrated, lithium polymer battery for long range. It’s quiet, lightweight, and clean power.
Like all ePropulsion motors, the Spirit 1.0 Plus is suitable for freshwater and saltwater, and because it requires no gasoline, it provides clean power with no emissions, no oil slicks and no noxious fumes. Stow in the trunk of your car without worry of spills or smell.
It’s also virtually silent, peaking at only 55dB on full throttle (which is as loud as a normal conversation). The Spirit 1.0 Plus is a direct drive motor so there are very few moving parts and no friction noise. This results an extremely quiet and lightweight (19kg/42lbs) motor that is virtually maintenance-free. Simply charge the battery from any standard 110V outlet or charge with the optional solar panel charger (even while motor is running) or from any 12V source with the 12V charger.

Try before you buy.
Rent per day or per week, and if you’d like to keep it, we’ll put 80% of the rental fee towards purchase.

Designed for portability.
Easy to carry. Compact, lightweight, and foldable. 20kg/44lbs including battery.

Maintenance-free.
Other than a fresh water rinse after use and keeping the electrical contacts clean, requires no regular maintenance or winterization.
No exhaust, oil slicks, emissions or fumes.
Stow in the trunk of your car without worry of spills or smell.

Suitable for freshwater and saltwater boating.

Tilt angle: 75%
4 trim angles: 0°, 7°, 14°, 21°
2-blade, 11” × 5.8” (280 mm × 147 mm) composite (nylon reinforced) propeller.
Spirit electric motors have a larger propellor than gas-driven 3HP motor because of the extreme torque from electric motors (you go faster at fewer RPMs).
3 different shaft lengths:
- Extra-short: 52.3cm/20.6″
- Short: 64.5cm/24.6” (most common)
- Long: 75cm/29.5”
For inflatable boats and motor boats, the short shaft is recommended. For sailboats the long shaft is usually the right one. To be sure, check out the ePropulsion guide “How to Find Your Shaft Length”.
Integrated, removable, lithium-ion polymer battery. Provides 75 minutes of full-speed runtime, 3-5 hours at cruising speeds, 10-12 hours of trolling. Chargeable from any standard 110V outlet, or can be charged with a solar panel. Batteries can be swapped out in seconds. And it floats!
Built-in tiller handle. Folds down completely, can tilt upwards slightly (not removable).
Simple stepless throttle control: the throttle hand feel is clear, smooth and enjoyable. Turn clockwise to go forward, counter-clockwise for reverse (right-handed mode).
No need to spin the motor around to go in reverse, which is the case with many small gasoline outboards.
Easy right-handed or left-handed operation (swap direction of clockwise and counterclockwise rotation).
Max power output adjustment: With a smaller full throttle power, it’s safer for kids and rental boats.
Magnetic kill switch for safety. Attach tether to the driver…if it detaches, the motor shuts off instantly.
Electric start: press one button and you’re ready to go. No more tiring pull cord start.
Digital LCD display provides current voltage, watts, battery level and remaining runtime
Anti-corrosion anodized coating and powder coating protects the base material from corrosion.
Charging port works with both AC charger and solar charger.
Battery pull latch makes battery installation easy and quick.

Integrated, removable battery.
(And it floats).

Cheap to run. No fuel costs.
- Easy: Batteries are installed and can be swapped out easily in seconds.
- Clever: battery floats if it’s accidentally dropped in the water.
- Flexible: use genuine ePropulsion batteries or other third-party 48V batteries (including e-bike batteries). Note that the Evo’s hydrogeneration feature requires genuine ePropulsion batteries.
High energy density, compact size.
- 75 minutes of runtime at full-speed (about 10km/h or 6.2 mph)
- Small decreases in speed make a huge difference in range (3-5 hours at cruising speeds, 10-15 hours of trolling).
- Exact run time depends on a variety of factors including sea conditions and hull weight and shape.
- Can use in conjunction with an external battery for greater range.
