A truly innovative electric outboard motor, the RemigoOne was the first design to incorporate the battery into the motor in a single sealed unit (a design that inspired ePropulsion when creating the eLite). Designed from the outset to break away from all traditional outboard motor styles, the RemigoOne is essentially an electric rudder. It’s also the lightest and most portable 3hp electric motor available, at only 12 kg (26 lbs), and a 2-inch wide body that lets you carry it one-handed close to your body.
Unlike virtually every other electric outboard on the market, the RemigoOne is manufactured in Europe (Slovenia—not China!)
Easy Maneuverability and Durability
This slim, all-in-one design offers several advantages over other electric motors. First, it makes it incredibly easy to maneuver, as the rudder shape combined with propulsion allows your boat to quickly turn and makes for a very tight turning radius. Secondly, it provides extreme durability. The RemigoOne features a watertight unibody constructed from marine-grade aluminium, providing durability and resistance to corrosion. It boasts an IP67 rating, ensuring protection against water ingress (even at a depth of 1 metre for 30 minutes), and includes anodes for additional corrosion protection in saltwater conditions. Controls are built into the motor rather than extended with wiring to the tiller, for fewer moving parts and failure points.
The rugged and simple design extends to the all-metal transom mount, tiller, controls and other hardware. The special two-part transom bracket design enables you to securely mount and detach the motor without the need to ever remove the bracket from the boat. A simple metal locking pin keeps the mounted motor securely in place.
Simple Operation
The motor is operated by just two push buttons on the top of the motor: one for increasing forward speed and another for decreasing forward speed and increasing reverse speed. If it sounds complicated, you’re overthinking it—it’s incredibly intuitive and easy to use. Pressing both buttons together stops the motor (as does removing the magnetic safety kill switch) and you can also press and hold a button to increase or decrease speed rapidly. A wireless (Bluetooth) remote is available which can be mounted at the end of the tiller, or held separate from the motor.
Adjustable Shaft Length
More smart design went into the shaft clamp which can be loosened and moved to different positions to make the exact shaft length you need to get the ideal propulsion for your boat (top of propeller should be 5-6 cm under the surface of the water). This means that there’s only one size of RemigoOne, which will fit every boat.
Premium Battery
If you have concerns about a fully enclosed, non-replaceable battery, note that Remigo uses premium LG cells, rated for 1000 cycles (before they reach 80% of original capacity). What this means is that if you’re charging it each day 0% to 100% for 100 days per season, it will last for 10 years before experiencing significant capacity loss. At the end of the battery life the outboard can be returned (to OceansEV) for a new battery to be fitted.
The RemigoOne can achieve a top speed of approximately 5 knots, offering a range of about 5 nautical miles over 1 hour. At a cruising speed of 3 knots, it can cover up to 14 nautical miles in approximately 4 hours. For extended journeys, operating at an economy speed of 2 knots allows for a range of up to 30 nautical miles over 15 hours.
